Hearts – EP2 EP Review

Tim Marshall

Swedish/UK indie rock band Hearts have released their second EP ‘EP2’.

Hearts consists of members from Catfish and The Bottlemen (UK), The Bongo Club (Sweden) and Bottlecap (Sweden), and they hit off their debut in the Swedish/UK music scene last year with a bang.

The lead single from ‘EP2’ ‘In Over Our Heads’ featured on Made in Chelsea S027, and honestly not surprised the producers chose this track because it’s got all the elements that in my mind makes it an absolute indie anthem! One hundred percent my favourite track on the album!

The second track ‘What Do You Want Kid’ reminds me of an Arctic Monkeys kind of style with elements of Stone Roses sounds as well. It’s a track that can be listened to over and over again without tiring. Plus I love the opening line, “Why do you sit in silence waiting for another bad day to come?”. Which is basically saying get up and make every day count!

Moving now to track three ‘Sideways’, which gives you that warm indie sound that brings back memories of old concerts going to see your favourite bands play. It gives a summer indie vibe that you just want to chill out to and enjoy with mates.

The final track ‘FOMO’ proves to the listeners that these guys can make a whole EP with complete bangers and in my opinion some of the best indie tracks ever heard in a long time. When the song starts to come to an end, you really do feel a repeat listen to the whole EP is needed to hear the band’s brilliance once again. And that’s exactly what I’m doing now!

Hearts are the Sweden-UK indie collaboration that the world needs, bringing a certain style from both countries, making their sound unique and memorable.

They deserve so much more love on social media and on their streaming platforms!

Listen to this incredible EP here, you won’t be disappointed!
