Album Review: Incomplete… All Fine – Fast Lane

Tim Marshall

Bordeaux, France based skate punk outfit, ‘Fast Lane’ have recently dropped their second studio album ‘Incomplete… All Fine’!

If you’re a fan of fast paced skate punk like NOFX, then you’re going to love these guys!

If I could, I’d write about every track on this album, and to be honest, I would love to… They’ve packed the album full of complete bangers that I’d be here all day writing about each one. But I’ve picked my five favourite tracks on the album to write about instead.

The album kicks off with ‘Intrinsically Wrong’ setting the pace with a blistering energy that grabs you by the collar and demands your attention, and lays down the gauntlet for what’s to come.

Track six,’Feeling Fine’ follows suit, showcasing the band’s knack for delivering well-produced, infectious melodies that linger long after the song ends. It’s the kind of track you’ll find on repeat for a good amount of time after initially listening.

‘Stay True’ emerges as a standout anthem, embodying the rebellious spirit of punk rock. A reminder to stay true to oneself in a world that often demands conformity.

My next choice is, ‘Time Goes By’, a track that channels the ska-infused energy reminiscent of bands like Less Than Jake. The catchy rhythm begs to be played on repeat.

Throughout the album, Fast Lane doesn’t shy away from delivering short, punchy tracks that pack a serious punch. Tracks like ‘What I Just Need!’ and ‘Destinations Are All The Same’ may be brief, but they’re bursting with raw energy and passion that leave you craving more.

And just when you think the ride is over, Fast Lane delivers a final surprise with the acoustic gem, ‘Powerless Witness’. It’s a track that takes me back to the days of old-school b-side albums, offering a moment of reflection after the whirlwind of punk rock chaos.

Fast Lane has truly delivered a skate punk masterpiece that’s impossible to ignore.
