Minnesota based pop punk band, Halfway Down release their fourth track “Never Coming Back”.
Halfway Down are for fans of Blink 182, Four Year Strong and The Wonder Years.
The dad of lead singer and guitarist Blake has the best ever description for their sound,
“I love how the screaming goes right into something that sounds like Owl City”.
Perfectly described.
“Never Coming Back” is very personal to lead singer Blake. It’s a song that he wrote for his solo project ‘DINNERSWORTH’ that he never released. He pitched the track to the band and they jumped at the opportunity to record it as a Halfway Down track.
The track is about moving on, which the band have said it could be in a relationship, a career, or personal trauma. It was written by Blake at a time in his life, when leading Arizona after high school when he felt like nothing was going his way and had nothing left.
To conclude, “Never Coming Back” is a solid sounding easy-core track, with powerful lyrics that really pull at the heartstrings. I can’t wait for new music by Halfway Down!
