Lab Rat – Drunk

Australian based alt-rock grunge rap artist Lab Rat released his second UK single ‘Drunk’ on 8th November via Mushroom Pillow.

This is the follow up to the critically acclaimed single ‘Exit Path’.

Lab Rat, the British-born artist known as Dylan James, has faced significant personal challenges on his journey to success. Despite overcoming family discord, trauma, depression, and suicidal tendencies, he has emerged resilient and determined to make his mark.

‘Drunk’ is a bold and gritty anthem that resonates deeply with anyone yearning for freedom and authenticity. The song captivates listeners with its haunting guitar riffs that linger in the air, paired with a thunderous rhythm section that drives the energy forward. It encapsulates Lab Rat Australia’s signature fusion of raw punk energy and the captivating charm of indie rock, creating an unforgettable auditory experience that demands to be felt.

‘Drunk’ was written when I was with my ex. We weren’t good together. We used to be very toxic and at least once a month we would have a massive fight and break up which would lead to one of us calling each other at 3 am drunk out of our minds asking to pop round and ‘work things out’ I wrote the bassline about 6 years ago and in the wake the relationship finally imploding and the song just kind of fell out. The Girl in question has actually heard the track since I wrote it and surprisingly seems to like it, for now at least anyway.”

Through triumph and adversity, he continues to defy the odds, inspiring others to persevere in the face of darkness and uncertainty. As he navigates the uncharted waters of the international music scene, Dylan remains steadfast in his commitment to authenticity, channeling his experiences into art that resonates deeply with audiences worldwide.

Dylan’s journey is a profound narrative of redemption and resilience, illustrating the remarkable ability of music to heal and uplift the human spirit. His life unfolds like a tapestry woven with both triumphs and challenges, showcasing his relentless determination to rise above the odds stacked against him.

Each note and lyric becomes a source of strength, allowing him to inspire countless others to push through their own struggles, illuminating the path even in the darkest moments of uncertainty. His unwavering spirit serves as a beacon of hope, encouraging others to find their own light amid adversity.

You should definitely take the time to listen to the song “Drunk.” It truly captures the raw emotions and challenges that many people face in their lives.
