The Downsides of Being Happy – Sweet Coins

The Downsides of Being Happy by St Albans based band ‘Sweet Coins’ is an Anthemic Masterpiece that will definitely be the EP Drop of the year!

If you’re looking for a Mixture of Hyperpop, Metalcore and Pop Punk well they have the perfect mixture for your ears!

Kicking off with their title track “Happy?”, the EP effortlessly blends downtuned riffs with an infectious energy. With commanding raspy vocals and a catchy melody, this opener pulls you in, setting the stage for the entire EP.

Next on the lineup is ‘Fell For Me’, bringing back memories of classic 2010s Pop Punk. The song wastes no time in delivering the punchy vigor and finely tuned guitars that fans love. This boyband really knows how to give listeners what they want for a great listening experience!

Transitioning to the previously released and well-streamed “LOOK @ U”, the EP shifts gears from Pure Pop Powerhouse to Hyperpop Heroes. This track, a classic love story of pure embarrassment and love at first sight, will have you dancing the night away.

With two tracks left to go, we dive into “Gloom”, which starts with a cheerful and positive tone before dropping into a chorus full of immense sound. This song is anything but ordinary; it has a remarkable ability to swiftly shift your emotions and provide clear insight into the anthemic lyrics.

Finally, the pièce de résistance, “RCG” (Rose Coloured Glasses), influenced by “I MISS 2003”, captivates from the start with atmospheric noises and a dreamy soundscape. It then crescendos into a monumental wall of sound that resonates in all the right places. With a unique finish and a choral masterpiece to conclude, ‘The Downsides of Being Happy’ is undoubtedly a collection of five tracks you won’t want to overlook.
