Energetic alternative rock band FOLLOWER have released a new track, ‘Leave It To Chance’.
FOLLOWER have taken the UK music industry by storm since unveiling their new brand and sound in 2022. They’ve recently supported bands like The Five Hundred, Two Year Break, Veridian, Acres and others.
The most recent tracks released have been 2 remixes, 1 acoustic and 1 reimagined version of formerly released singles. And now have released ‘Leave It To Chance’ as a self produced B-Side track as a treat for our ears.
‘Leave It To Chance’ is a less conventional love song, more of an ‘up yours’ to the miseries of today’s media. It’s about being in tune with the world around you, and finding the simple joys of love and appreciation.
As soon as I heard the track another song came to mind. Which was ‘Paralysed’ from one of my favourite albums of the last 5 years ‘Lost in the Waves’, by one of my top artists of all time, LANDMVRKS. The style of tracks are quite similar, just minus the metalcore part! And after listening to FOLLOWER’s track I can honestly say it’s one of my favourite releases of 2024 so far.
With lyrics like “leave the city for skies of blue, fill your lungs with air anew” and “we live for news and finance, no time for romance, I won’t leave It to chance”, the lead singer has really brought out the essence of the harshness of the media, and that falling in love is made harder as a consequence.
I’m hugely looking forward to new releases from FOLLOWER, and guitarist Damien McVey said –
“We have a 5 track EP recorded and set for release in 2025, which will take us on a very different journey in terms of sound”.
That sounds very exciting, and makes me very intrigued to see and hear what’s next for the incredible FOLLOWER.
