New Anomaly – Rollercoaster

After a decade-long hiatus, the very talented alternative rock band New Anomaly from Newcastle, Australia, released their third track of 2024 ‘Rollercoaster’ today (09.08.24).

New Anomaly draws their influences from all different genres, from hardcore punk and pop rock to country music, giving them a unique and unmatched sound in the industry.

Influential bands like Biffy Clyro, A Day to Remember, Hands Like Houses, Grinspoon, and Creed have all left their mark on their sound.

The story for New Anomaly’s return from hiatus is incredible!

They stumbled upon a corrupted hard drive containing old recordings that they thought were gone forever. But thanks to the wonders of technology, they were able to salvage a full album of songs that were recorded 10 years ago. Like hidden treasures that hold memories and the power to reignite a passion again!

The song ‘Rollercoaster’ uses the metaphor of designing and riding a roller coaster to explore the ups and downs of life, emphasising free will and the power to shape one’s destiny.

It emphasizes the importance of being resilient in the face of life’s challenges and the value of supportive relationships.

The lyrics emphasize the celebration of the foundations of love and ambition, the inspiration that sparks significant moments, and the embrace of change for life’s journey and personal growth.

‘Rollercoaster’ emphasizes the significant impact of genuine connections, providing support and reassurance in a meaningful relationship.

The track immediately captivates the listener with its catchy guitars and pop rock-style drums, followed by awesome vocals and noteworthy lyrics that truly tell a compelling story.

To wrap things up, I’m very excited about New Anomaly, as their releases so far in 2024 have been phenomenal, and I can’t wait for the album!

Make sure to follow New Anomaly on their social media and streaming platforms!

We’ve also added ‘Rollercoaster’ to our Spotify playlist, ‘Punkio’s Alternative Rock Picks’.
