Ninebanks – Safety & Skeletons

Sunderland, UK-based pop-punk outfit Ninebanks recently released their latest single, ‘Safety & Skeletons,’ on 2nd August.

Ninebanks started 2024 on a high as a finalist in the top 10 artists in ‘Kerrang! Radio The Deal’ and performed their first show outside of the North-East. Now, Ninebanks is back with their new single ‘Safety & Skeletons’, and it doesn’t disappoint!

Having been a fan of Ninebanks since their debut track in 2021, I have noticed a clear improvement with each release, and ‘Safety & Skeletons’ stands out as their best track to date. My only complaint is that they don’t put out enough music!

The track demonstrates enhanced versatility and greater maturity in songwriting. It’s a dark yet beautiful anthem with emo vibes, capturing the struggle against depression and the bravery needed to confront the world.

“It was inspired by the anxiety and fear experienced during lockdown and the inevitable decline in mental health so many suffered”. It’s a more serious subject than some of our songs, which have a feel-good vibe, but I think songwriting and production-wise, it’s an important progression for us and reflects the band’s growth.”

Says the band’s lead vocalist, Jack Woods.

Having suffered from anxiety throughout lockdown and continuing to do so three years on, this song resonates with me on a deep level that not many other tracks do. It will stay in my mind for a long time and be in regular circulation for a while.

It’s a great addition to your playlist, so be sure to listen to it today and show Ninebanks some support!

Ninebanks will be rocking the stage at the Forever Pop Punk Birthday Palooza on August 17, at 33 Oldham Street, Manchester. Don’t miss out on their live performance!
